sigh

suffering the obligatory post tour misery. wish we were out for longer, but totally accept that we’re not ready to be and there are other things we need to focus on. Thanks everyone for coming and showing love, it was greatly appreciated.

Manchester was a laugh as usual, just wish we could have stayed out all night instead of having to drive home. Next time we’ll make it a thurs/fri and show big hands the activity it deserves.

on the plus side we found a greek(?) typewriter and a japanese ‘pocket’ (yes that’s what it says) dictionary on the street:

view from ‘hands:

Hyde park tomorrow – should be a laugh. maybe see you there…

Newcastle

Currently sat in the back of the van heading down the A1 for tonight’s show in Manchester – possibly slightly on the wrong side of the speed limit due to us breaking down (no tour would be complete without) in Newcastle this morning – but we’re all good now – just overtook the Astro Firs bus much to our amusement (I couldn’t possibly divulge any details) About to run out of battery, but I just wanted to say the shows have been great – looking forward to topping it off with the final show of this tour tonight at The Deaf Institute – which is now sold out! Party at Big Hands after!

Coventry and Bournemouth

What a start to the tour!  It feels great to be playing live again, it feels like we are a proper band again!  I’ve uploaded the crowd shots from Coventry and Bournemouth to our hub so please go check and see if you can find yourself (you’ll have to scroll back to get the coventry photo)  A big thanks to everyone that came, both crowds were amazing!  I’ll be uploading a crowd shot from each night so if you get down the front make sure your smiling!  Check back after tonights gig to see!

On the very familiar journey up the M3 to London.  Tonights show is going to be immense!  It’s been years since we played the Borderline. All I remember is the sweat! I hope we have towels this time!

the killers / hyde park

I write to you from Coventry Kasbah – we’ve just set everything up and are getting ready for sound check. Really looking forward to tonight and the club shows this week – I’ve missed the smell of disinfectant in the morning and other peoples sweat dripping from the ceiling in the evening!

I can also confirm we will be supporting The Killers in Hyde Park, London, on June 26th – click for info.
Hope to see some of you this week! These should be nice and sweaty shows. (this may not excite you but it does me)

June UK Tour

Hello everyone,

Ah, the Sun. Having spent the past week in the depths of a church recording it’s nice to experience daylight again. We’re getting geared up for the tour now. Can’t wait to play in some of our favourite tiny venues again – Very much looking forward to experimenting some new songs on you… and dusting off the old ones.

I am also excited to reveal we are bringing our friends Astro Firs out on the road to support us on these shows. Have a listen to them here.

These will be our only UK club shows this summer – See you in a couple of weeks,

Jim.
